A True Story.

So growing up, if you weren’t good at football, it was assumed you wouldn’t be good at anything and you were practically cast aside.
No matter you had gone from a shy kid to a drummer in a band, my parents couldn’t care less and never once went to a gig.
You are learning to fight? Well that just caused sniggers. The lad that got beaten up on a regular basis, now a champion. Ha ha.
What now, you want to write a book? No son, not you. Stick to the factory, people like you don’t write books, not the poorly educated. But you had courage.
My first published book was denied by my mother. A myth, she stopped short of calling it. You had a brilliant childhood, she claimed, whilst standing behind her in tears and in truth was my aunty. My aunty had read the book, she had seen it all for herself.
That book went on to sell throughout the world, inspired many and is about to be turned into a movie. Several more books followed it and there are several more to come. Never. Give. Up.
